Why get a management plan?

A woodland management plan is crucial to maintain the woodlands biodiversity and keep rare UK native species thriving. We can better understand our woodlands, how they function and work as one with the natural world.

What's involved

  • Introduction to woodland - History, maps, site access and uses, location, NVC classification and climate.

  • Woodland information - Vertical structure, mosaic structure, age structure. Photos provided identifying the ecology within the woodland.

  • Rare and protected species - Species found in the woodland which are rare and protected.

  • Objectives - Long and short term aims and objectives for the woodland

  • Management plan - Shows description for the works for the woodland with the work flow and time scale for work to be completed.
